MYSURU: The Cauvery Tourism Development Authority’s objective is promoting travel; exploiting tourism potential of the region comprising Mysuru, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar and Mandya districts besides parts of Ramanagaram District. The C.T.D.A. identified circuits for drawing higher footfalls.
The city’s economy is contingent on tourism, providing direct employment to nearly one lakh persons and with annual turnover exceeding Rs. 1,000 crore. “With the aim of enhancing travel in Mysuru area, which is one of the favorite destinations in the country, ‘Mysuru Tourism – A Road Map for 2020’ was submitted to the Tourism Department,” Mysore Travel Mart Chairman B.S. Prashanth says.
The Tourism Vision Group set the tone for growth in education and skill tourism, wellness including Yoga, digital and art and culture sectors.
Members of the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry repeatedly emphasised the importance of better connectivity not only to Bengaluru but also to Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Kochi.
