BHOPAL: Passengers are comfortable on airline seats, savouring mouthwatering West Asian falafel, delicious Malaysian rolls, yummy Mexican nachos, etc. besides Indian cuisine served by ‘air-hostesses’ walking down the aisle but if you suffer from aviophobia don’t worry ‘cos this plane is never gonna take off!
Welcome to ‘Air Kitchen’, the maiden theme eatery of its kind in this City of Lakes’ Peoples’ World Mall.
“It’s the perfect replica of a plane. We designed not only the exterior but also the interior in a manner that provides the full flight experience -- the cockpit has a video from the pilot’s seat. The menu cards are designed as passports,” says Ankita Nigam who is M.B.A., B.A., LL.B and pursuing a Ph.D. in management. She owns and manages the facility -- launched on June 1 -- with Divya Rai.
“There is an economic fast-food outlet for students and other youth. Just outside the aircraft is an ‘airport’ for events,” avers Divya. The ‘plane’ is surrounded by replicas of the Taj Mahal, Statue of Liberty, India Gate, Red Fort, Burj Khalifa, Eiffel Tower, etc.
