Lucknow, Mar 29 (UNI) Dispute between Uttar Pradesh and Delhi governments over the rush of labour migrants at the UP-Delhi border could escalate after Noida police registered an FIR against AAP Delhi MLA Raghav Chaddha on early Sunday morning.
On entire Saturday, AAP and Uttar Pradesh government blamed each other for triggering panic among the labourer migrants staying in Delhi leading to their exodus from the national capital.
However, the situation worsens when AAP MLA Raghav Chaddha tweeted alleging that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was chasing and beating up the migrants returning to the state from the union territory.
The tweet was later deleted.
Mr Mritunjay Kumar, advisor of Mr Adityanath has confirmed to UNI on Sunday about the FIR being filed against the AAP MLA in Noida.
He said such act of the AAP leaders are deplorable when the country is fighting against the novel coronavirus pandemic.
"Thousand of people came to Delhi-UP borders violating the lockdown norms but the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government did nothing to stop them. UP government, on the other hand, did everything by providing them with buses and food," he said.
But AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh blamed the UP government for the entire chaos." On March 26, UP CM had announced that his government will provide all facilities to the migrants staying anywhere in the country to return to their villages in UP. This announcement created all the problem but now BJP is blaming us for it," he said in a statement here.
Meanwhile, the FIR against AAP MLA Raghav Chadda was lodged at the Sector 20 police station in Noida by a senior Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Kumar under section 500 and 500(2) of the IPC along with Section 66 of the IT Act.
The FIR number 0292 of the police station says that as per the complaint of the lawyer, it is said that the accused has tweeted a malicious message against UP CM and was a deliberate attempt to create law and order problem.
