Chandigarh, April 26 (UNI) The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in Punjab carried out a joint operation with central agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police, and arrested 11 members of an organised criminal gang operated by Charanjit Singh alias Raju shooter.
A large cache of arms and ammunitions including three pistols and a double-barrel gun along with 26 live cartridges were recovered from them.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Friday that in September 2023 the gang was involved in a failed attempt to loot a bank at Village Dhotian, Tarn Taran, in which one police officer was critically wounded.
On April 16, 2024 associates of Raju shooter orchestrated his escape from Civil Hospital, Tarn Taran where he was admitted for treatment. The gang is involved in organised criminal activities like attempt to murder, robbery, drug smuggling.
