Unlocking of EVM strong room:DRO & DC Shimla Amit Kashyap transferred

Shimla, Mar 18 (UNI) In the wake of the recent controversy surrounding the unlocking of strong room of EVMs by the former SDM in October last year following complaint by opposition parties to the Election Commission , an administrative shuffle has taken place as the District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap has been transferred in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state.
The order signed by the Chief Secretary Mr BK Agarwal which was circulated to the media confirmed that HP-2012 cadre IAS and Director Town & Country Planning Shimla has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Shimla replacing Mr Kashyap.
Mr Kashyap of HP-2008 batch IAS has been posted as Director Tourism & Civil Aviation.
