Special measures in the offing for J&K highway: Advisor to LG

Srinagar, Jan 26 (UNI) Asserting that road connectivity poses a major challenge due to geographical location of Jammu and Kashmir, Advisor to the Lt Governor Farooq Ahmad Khan on Sunday said that special measures will be taken, to tackle the challenges being faced by the commuters on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway (due to frequent closure of the road).

''Due to the geographical location of J&K, road connectivity poses a major challenge for the administration. But despite these challenges, the administration tries it's best to make sure that far-flung and remote areas remain connected with their respective district headquarters through road,'' Mr Khan said, after unfurling the national flag and taking salute at the march past presented by different contingents on Republic Day at the S K Cricket Stadium, here.
