Punjab Rural Dept to modify MGNREGA rules for development of village outskirts

Chandigarh, Sep 18 (UNI) Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Wednesday said the rules of the department, as well as the MGNREGA would be modified, to concretise the outskirts (Phirnis) of the villages of Punjab, with the interlocking tiles.
Chairing the meeting of the Chief Minister Advisory Group on Rural Development here, Mr Bajwa directed the officers of the department to prepare a draft, aimed at carrying out the modifications.
He also asked the officers to raise this issue with the Union Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayats, so as to be enable carrying out necessary modifications in the MGNREGA rules.
