Bhopal, June 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state Mineral Resources and Labour Minister Brajendra Pratap Singh, DGP Sudhir Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rajesh Kumar Rajora and others are leaving for Dehradun tonight after the demise of more than a dozen pilgrims from this state’s Panna district when a bus – conveying them to Yamunotri Dham – plunged into a gorge in Uttarakhand.
Earlier, Mr Chouhan spoke over phone with his Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami.
“Ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each will be provided to the next of kin and Rs 50,000 to every grievously-injured person. One of our teams has left for Uttarakhand from Delhi. The tragedy is indeed heartrending. I pray for peace to the departed souls and fortitude to the bereaved families that must not consider themselves alone in this hour of sorrow. We are with them. I and my team are maintaining constant contact with that state’s dispensation and the district administration. Arrangements are being made for treatment of the injured and vis-à-vis bringing the corpses to Madhya Pradesh,” Mr Chouhan conveyed via social media.
