HP reports 42 new COVID cases, 2 deaths in past 24 hrs

Hamirpur (HP), Dec 22 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh has reported forty-two new Covid-19 cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours, a health official said on Wednesday.
Two aged people, one each from Hamirpur and Kangra district lost their lives due to Covid-19 and forty-two new cases reported in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, said an official spokesman.
He told UNI today that the number of active cases stood at 455 and total fatalities in the state at 3,853.
Meanwhile, the number of total confirmed cases in the state stood at 2,28,370 as against 2,24,045 cured cases.
He said that Kangra district topped the list with a maximum number of 84 active cases, followed by Una-74, Solan-69, Shimla-68, Mandi-62 and Hamirpur-53.
The spokesman appealed to the people to take proper care and maintain Covid-19 guidelines by wearing face masks and maintaining social distance to keep them away from the virus.
He said that the virus still existed in the state and there was a need for visiting the nearby health institutions if anyone was having cough, cold or any types of ailment.
