Jammu, Oct 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to cracked the high profiled case of cross border smuggling of narcotics and arms/ammunition with the arrest of seven persons.
Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh here told reporters that during the intervening night of September 19-20 a smuggling bid was foiled by joint party of Jammu Police and BSF 42 Bn at Bullay Chak near BSF Budhwar Post at IB Arnia and recovered huge consignment of 61 packets Heroin, one packet of opium, two pistols, three magazines and 100 live cartridges during the search operation in the wee hours etc and accordingly a case was registered.
He said that during the basis of investigation it was found that on the fateful night one Jash Raj Singh of Sai Kalan and Subash Chander of Sai Phagala at the behest of Sham Lal Shama of Arnia had gone to zero line on India-Pakistan IB near Budhwar BSF Post to collect the Narcotic and Arms consignment dropped from across the border by Pakistani Smugglers (identity being established).
