ACB register case against JKB officials, Mumbai company for Rs 6 cr fraud

Srinagar, Oct 1 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) and proprietors of a Mumbai company for awarding contract not following the proper tendering norms thus causing a loss to the tune of more than Rs six crore.
A spokesman of the ACB said that an FIR was registered against accused Surjeet Singh Seghal, the then Executive President J&K Bank (now retired), Parvaiz Ahmad, the then Chairman of J&K Bank (now retired), Feroz Ahmad, the then Assistant Vice President; and Sahil Vora and Rishabh Vora, Directors of M/s SILA Solutions Pvt Ltd along with the residents of 508 Olympus Apartments 5C, Altamont Road Mumbai.
He said FIR was registered on the allegation that the officers and officials of J&K Bank Ltd awarded tenders of housekeeping to a Mumbai based Company by not following the proper tendering norms and that has led to the losses to the bank of the tune of Rs 6,29,56,575 from the date of award of contract.

Diggy objects to ECI step

Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh on Saturday vociferously objected to Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Kamal Nath’s name being deleted from the star campaigners’ list by the Election Commission of India.
“I have respect for the ECI that has taken cognisance of my party’s complaints and acted on them. However, removal of Mr Nath’s name constitutes a violation of rules as that is the exclusive jurisdiction of political parties and not the ECI. We have moved the Supreme Court in this regard,” the erstwhile chief minister averred in a statement here.

Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) Temblors measuring 3.2 and 3.5 and on the Richter scale were experienced in Chhindwara and Seoni respectively on Saturday; providentially no loss of life was reported.
“Tremors were felt at the former place at 1720 hrs and at the latter plus adjoining areas at 1816 hrs. Seoni had a similar experience recently,” the India Meteorological Department’s senior meteorologist Ajay Shukla said here.

Gwalior, MP, Oct 31 (UNI) On the penultimate day of Assembly by-poll campaigning, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday addressed no less than five public meetings in Gwalior-Chambal region and followed those up with a roadshow in Gwalior District’s Dabra.
The senior politician reached Dabra constituency late this evening. The open vehicle carrying him and other saffron camp stalwarts was surrounded by thousands of cheering citizens. Mr Chouhan is scheduled to spend the night in Dabra.
