Elderly woman beaten to death following minor dispute in Kaithal city

Kaithal, Nov 12 (UNI) An elderly woman was allegedly beaten to death by her neighbours outside their house in Mata Gate area of the city on Monday.
In a complaint to the police, deceased Gulabo's husband Hari Chand alleged that his wife was alone at her house when she was allegedly attacked by Kanta Devi and her son Aman Kumar following a dispute about a drain outside their house.
The victim succumbed to her injuries while on way to hospital.
Hari Chand, who works as labourer in a rice mill in Kaithal, said around 1600 hrs on Monday, his neighbour told him over phone that his wife was lying unconscious on the street. He took his wife to Kaithal civil hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
He also said the accused, who lives in the same locality, had a clash with the deceased about ten days ago following which Gulabo had gone to her brother’s house in Sudkain village. On her return on Monday, they again had exchange of hot words and later attacked by the accused in which Gulabo sustained serious injuries and died.
When contacted City SHO said as per the complaint the accused have been booked under section 302 and 34 of the IPC and efforts were on to arrest them. He said the cause of death would be ascertained after receipt of postmortem report.

Internet remains suspended, no relief for detained leaders, life now normal

Srinagar, Dec 12 (UNI) Pre-paid mobile and internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) remained suspended while there was no relief for the political leaders detained in the Kashmir valley since August 5, when Centre scrapped Article 370 and 35 A, besides divided the state into two Union Territories (UTs).
