267 people operated upon for NSV in fortnight

Jalandhar, Jan 6 (UNI) The district has been ranked first in Punjab by the health department with the highest number of cases registered during ‘No-Scalpel Vasectomy’ (NSV) fortnight held from November 21 to December 4, last year.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said the district has attained the first position with 267 cases in the fortnight observed under which a intensified drive was carried out by frontline health workers including Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) and others in all blocks of the district from November 21 to November 28, last year.
Following which service delivery week held from November 28 to December 4, last year in various government health institutions where duties of surgeons were fixed, he added.
