Kadapa, Jun 30 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Rajya Sabha MP C M Ramesh, who observed an indefinite fast for 11 days demanding the Centre to establish a steel plant in this distict, called off his fast on Saturday after drinking a glass of lime juice offered by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Mr Naidu met the fasting MP today and convinced him to call off the indefinite fast assuring that the government would intensify efforts for the establishment of the steel plant. Later, the Chief Minister also offered lime juice to B.Tech Ravi, who was brought from the RIMS hospital after he also embarked on a fast along with Mr Ramesh.
The Chief Minister also convinced the leaders of Rayalaseema Communist party, who had been organizing relay hunger strike for the last 400 days for the same cause.
