Snowfall forecast in Lahaul Spiti : Admn sounds Advisory to Tourists

Shimla, Oct 23 (UNI) Lahaul Spiti district administration sounded a travel Advisory to tourists expected to visit the hill state, in-wake of India Meterogical Department's (IMD) forecast of heavy snowfall on Oct. 23 and 24, and again on Oct. 27 and 28 in the tribal areas of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur district.
Deputy commissioner Lahaul Spiti district Mr Neeraj Kumar said that Manali-Sarchu road has not opened yet and in this scenario if snowfall takes place as per weather forecast, it is likley to be closed till first week of November.
He said that National Highway no-3 between Manali-Leh Highway won't open till 1st week of November for all types of vehicles.
