Practice of throwing litter into the Chandra Bhaga rampant : SPCB

Shimla, Apr 9(UNI) The Senic beauty of Himachal Pradesh started is under threat as tons of non-biodegradable garbage are dumped by Tourists daily in the state.
With the upgradation of infrastructure like Four laning, round the year vehicular facilities like Atal Tunnel Rohtang footfall of tourists has risen in the state however non compliance of environmental advisories by the tourists, hospitality industry and Transporters has increased the headache of Local Administeration and other concerned authorities.
A press release issued by the Apoorv Devgan (IAS) Member Secretary, Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board stated that during their field inspection it was found that the practice of throwing litter into the Chandra and Bhaga rivers are rampant.
