New Innovations required for preserving Nutrients in the processed food: NIN Director

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (UNI) Dr R Hemalatha, Director, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), DHR, MoHFW, on Friday mentioned that Food processing sector has always played a major role in increasing the shelf life of the food products and saving food losses from production to consumption.
New innovations are required in protecting the nutrients value in the food while processing and also while maintaining the quality of food, said Dr Hemalatha while addressing at ‘TS-FoodBiz’ , a conference on Latest Food Processing Technologies and Allied Industries, organized by CII-Telangana here.,
NIN and Industry could collaborate to come up with good innovations, she said.
