Aproximately 68.38% voter turnout recorded by 11 pm in Karnataka's first phase of polling

Bengaluru, April 26 (UNI) In the inaugural phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, a notable surge in voter turnout characterised the electoral landscape across 14 constituencies on Friday.
With an approximate voter turnout of 68.38 percent by 11 pm, the state witnessed a keenly contested battle between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP-JDS coalition, rekindling the electoral rivalry less than a year since their last confrontation.
An official overseeing the Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka, however, indicated that the reported voter turnout figures are subject to change as officials scrutinise and validate the data provided by polling stations.
