Lucknow, Sep 10 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Saturday alleged that there is an understanding between the ruling BJP and the main opposition party Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh and due to this nexus the Yogi government has got a walkover to work in an autocratic manner.
SP president Akhilesh Yadav in return dubbed BSP as a loudspeaker party of BJP and said people will teach a lesson to them in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Targeting SP, Mayawati said the party has lost its support base due to its bad deeds. "SP is losing its support base in UP and the main reason behind this is the party's own actions. Why should there be no disappointment among the people when the news of tussle in the family, party and the alliance, and its open nexus with criminal elements and meeting jail matching are taking rounds?," she tweeted while accusing SP of having nexus with criminals.
In another tweet, the BSP president also accused SP and BJP of having a nexus and claimed that due to this the Yogi government has been given a free hand to act in an autocratic manner. "At the same time, the complicity between SP and BJP is not hidden from anyone and this is the special reason that the BJP government has got a walkover here at a time when SP is the main opposition party and the government is free to do its own thing. Life of the general public and specially Muslim society is displeased and there is a lot of restlessness among them," she tweeted.
Mayawati said to hide these shortcomings, SP President Akhilesh Yadav makes unwarranted allegations of the leaders of the other parties by giving child-like statements. "In order to hide his anti-people shortcomings, he keeps trying to divert the attention of the people by making unrestrained and childish rhetoric against others, the people and other opposition parties of the country also need to beware of SP," she tweeted.
Retaliating on Mayawati's attack, Akhilesh tweeted, "BJP is baffled by witnessing the public anger against it before elections in 2024 and the unity of the parties working in public interest. That's why it is getting its loudspeaker parties to utter nonsense…the mike of these loudspeakers is somewhere else. The people will teach a lesson to BJP and its unaffiliated parties which deceive the public."
