Zakir Musa among two militants killed in Tral, educational institutes closed in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 23 (UNI) Ansar Gazwatul Hind chief Zakir Musa was reportedly among two militants killed in an encounter with security forces which ensued after a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, the administration has ordered closure of all educational institutes, including schools and colleges, on Friday and Saturday as a precautionary measure in Kashmir valley, where mobile internet services has been suspended.
Official sources said that following specific information about presence of militants, a joint CASO was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police, Army and CRPF at Dadsar, Tral in Pulwama on Thursday.

However, when security forces were moving toward a particular area, militants hiding there, fired at them with automatic weapons.

"The security forces retaliated, ensuing in an encounter," they said, adding additional security forces have been rushed to further seal the area to foil any attempts by militants to escape.
They said two militants were killed in the exchange of fire. "Musa is reportedly one of the two militants killed in the encounter," they said.
Meanwhile, reports of protests and clashes were coming from various parts of the valley. "All schools, colleges and universities will be closed on Friday and Saturday as a precautionary measure," they added.
