Yogi govt should be ready for unemployment crisis in future: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Apr 9 (UNI) Expressing fears of unemployment increasing in the country due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that apart from curbing the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, the government should also prepare a road-map to deal with the impending situation.
Mr Yadav said that due to the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19, the life of the workers employed in the unorganised sector has been hit badly. Mr Yadav said that the situation is so serious that the rate of unemployment in India is over 23 per cent. This number will increase further. Lakhs of workers have been forced to migrate to their villages.
He said that due to the lockdown that was imposed to control the spread of the Coronavirus, the information of five crore people becoming unemployed in two weeks is extremely concerning. Following a review into these figures, the government should prepare a road-map for the help of the families which have been affected by unemployment or the circumstances can become grave because of starvation.
