Windstorm & rain lash some places of HP

Shimla, May 23 (UNI) High Speed windstorm hit many places of Himachal Pradesh damaging stone fruits in mid hills. Few places also got light to moderate spell of rainfall in Shimla, Solan , Hamirpur and Mandi districts.
Mango, walnut, Peach, appricot crops were damaged by the midnight windstorm causing massive drop of ripening fruits and knocking down tree branches. The windstorm also blown off roofs of some houses and cowsheds.
The rainshowers would help to bring down the soaring Mercury and prolonged dry spell. Kotkhai ( had 2.2 mm rain, Solan :31.7 Jhandutta(Bilaspur): 30.2 . Kufri (Shimla) 29.5 Raigarh (Sirmaur) 28.6 , Shillaru(Shimla) 26.1 Mashobra 26 , Nahan 25.4 , Aghar(Hamirpur) and Jubbarhati, Shimla:24.6 each, Sundernagar 19 Poantasahib(Sirmaur) 14, Mandi 8 mm. The Met Office forecast rain and 3 storms in some places of Himachal Pradesh in next 24 hrs.
