Wayanad district authorities take up preventive measures owing to rough weather forecast

Wayanad, Aug 7 (UNI) With the torrential rains wreaking havoc in this district during the past two days and a rough weather forecast for the next few days, the authorities have taken up preventive measures to contain the loss of human lives and cautioned public against unwanted wandering in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a precautionary measure in the event of possible landslides in vulnerable places, District collector Dr Adeela Abdulla has instructed the Revenue and Oanchayat officials to ensure early shifting and relocating of all those who are in various resorts, lodges, guest houses and home stays in Padinjarethara, Meppadi, Thavinjal, Muppenad, Thondarnad Thirunelli, Pozhuthana and Vythiri panchayats.
No hotels, resorts should not take any fresh booking till the IMD alert on the rough weather was withdrawn.
