Ballia (UP), April 25 (UNI) Four youths were killed and one more was injured when an SUV overturned and rammed into a tree in the Chitbaragaon area of Ballia district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Thursday.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Wednesday night when Kamlesh Yadav (36), a resident of Badhwalia village, along with Raju Yadav (30), Chhotu Yadav (30), Ritesh Gond (32) and Satyendra Yadav (40) were going to Chitbaragaon.
"Near an eatery, the SUV rammed into the tree and overturned," they said.
Police sources said that Satyendra, Raju, and Kamlesh were killed on the spot. "Chhotu and Ritesh were seriously injured in the incident and were referred to Varanasi for treatment. Ritesh succumbed to injuries while being taken to Mau," they said.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Durga Prasad Tiwari said that the family members of the deceased have been informed that the matter is being investigated by the police.
