UNADAP appoints Madurai salon owner's daughter as 'Goodwill Ambassador to the Poor'

Madurai, Jun 5 (UNI) In an unique distinction, M Nethra, daughter of a salon owner in Madurai city has been appointed as a "Goodwill Ambassador to the Poor" by United Nations Association for Development And Peace (UNADAP) under the civil society projects.
The 13-year-old girl from the city convinced her father, a barber, to give Rs 5 lakh for the poor during the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, that the family had been saving for her education and for her to pursue civil service when the time comes.
This act of selflessness and kindness needs to be recognised and rewarded, the UNADAP said in its website on Friday.
