Two booked for illegally transporting paddy

Jalandhar, Oct 19 (UNI) To curb illegal transportation of paddy in Punjab, the police on Monday registered an FIR against two persons for the said crime.
DC Ghanshyam Thori said that the Punjab government has banned the sale of paddy in Punjab from outside and administration was keeping a close vigil on the illegal transportation of paddy.
He said on Sunday late night, we received information from local police that a truck (JH-19A-8751) loaded with paddy had been entering Jalandhar from Maqsudan Chowk for illegal sale here. He said following which the officials from Mandi Board, Food supply were sent to the spot and inquired from truck’s occupants Papinder Kumar of Gaya in Bihar and Gurdial Singh of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
