Train   service resumes after three days in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 25 (UNI) Train service resumed on Sunday after remaining suspended for security reasons for three days in south Kashmir, where six militants were killed in an encounter by security forces in Anantnag on Friday.
However, trains were running was normal in north Kashmir after remaining suspended for a day on Thursday when Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) had called for a general strike in the valley against the killing of senior separatist leader Hafizullah Mir by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag on Tuesday.
We have resumed train service in south Kashmir this morning after a fresh advisory was received from police on Saturday night, a senior railway official told UNI.
He said therefore train will chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Infact morning trains had left Banihal for Srinagar.
However, railway official said they are acting on the advice of local administration since security and safety of the passengers was necessary.
Train service was suspended on Thursday when JRL had called for a strike against the killing of Mir. However, train service was resumed on Friday. But after few train runs, the service was again suspended in south Kashmir for security reasons following the killing of six militants in Anantnag.
Train service however, operated normally in north Kashmir.

Three militants including the top most local wanted commander Basit Dar of the “The Resistance Front' (TRF), an organisation believed to be a shadow outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed on Tuesday in a gun battle at Redwani Payeen Kulgam
Sources said a joint team of security forces established a fresh contact with a hiding militant on Wednesday during continued searches at Redwani Payeen area of Kulgam as they had inputs about three militants in the house and out of them two were killed on Tuesday.
