Telangana govt to extend financial assistance to farmers effected by rains & hailstorms

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Tuesday directed Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and the officials concerned to take measures to extend the financial assistance announced by the State government to farmers whose crops were damaged due to untimely rains and hailstorms.
In the wake of recent crop damages due to hailstorms, KCR ,.who recently visited and consoled the affected farmers, announced Rs 10,000 compensation per acre will be deposited in the farmers' accounts for the damaged crops.
In a review meeting with the Chief Secretary and officials concerned, held on Crop loss, Podu lands, Sheep distribution, financial assistance to the poor for house construction and other issues here, the CM directed the officials to implement this government decision.
