Sunshine greets people in Kashmir, cold winds continue

Srinagar, Nov 12 (UNI) After witnessing snowfall and cloudy weather during the last about five days, sunshine greeted people on Tuesday though cold winds continued in the summer capital Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley, where maximum temperature settled several degrees below normal.
However, a fresh spell of moderate to heavy snow would occur for three days from Thursday, when a Western Disturbance (WD), which originated from the Arabian Sea and is approaching the region though Afghanistan and Pakistan, will hit the UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
A Met department spokesperson told UNI that higher reaches will witness isolated very light rain and snow during the next 48 hours.
