Strike by daily wagers, casual labourers continues in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 27 (UNI) Thousands of daily wagers and casual labourers of different government department continued their strike for the second day on Tuesday, demanding among other things regularization of their service, implementation of 7th pay commission and minimum wages Act in the Jammu and Kashmir.
"We will intensify our agitation if our demands are not met," the striking workers threatened.
The daily wagers and casual labourers under the banner of J&K Casual and Daily wagers Forum who were holding protests in support of their demands in the past haad threatened to go for pen down strike from October 26. "Our strike continued today also," they said adding the government has failed to do justice and resolve our problems despite repeated assurance by successive governments, including Lt Governors.
