State level Mega Event under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme organised

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (UNI) During a State Level Mega Event under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme organised to commemorate the National Girl Child Day on Friday in Panchkula, Haryana Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Kamlesh Dhanda said that besides educating the daughters, they should also be involved in other activities so that they could bring laurels to the state and country as well.
The Minister said that the government has implemented many schemes to empower the women and they have not been only becoming self-independent by availing benefits of such schemes, but they have also been contributing in building a strong society.
She said that the sex ratio was 830 in 2015 which has been increased to 923 in 2020 after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program in 2015. She said that the government have been running one-stop centre scheme which have been providing assistance to the victims of domestic violence.
Ms. Dhanda said that apart from the achievements in the field of sports and education, the women across the state have also been playing an important role in the Panchayati Raj institutions.
She also released a calendar for women, depicting precautions and personal hygiene for women. She also awarded winners of the women's 100m, 200m and 400m athletic events by giving them a cash award of Rs 5100, Rs 2100 and Rs 1100 respectively.
Appreciating the cultural program organized on the theme of ‘safe daughter’ on the occasion, the Minister also get the pictures clicked with little girl participants to encourage them.
Director of Women and Child Development Department, Manoj Kumar said that programs will be organized at village, block and district level till January 30 during the girl child week.
He said that more than six thousand disputes have been settled in the one stop center run by the department and 3703 cases of child marriage disputes have been resolved. He added that an amount of Rs 79.80 lakh has been deposited under the Mukhya Mantri Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for the development of women and girls.

MP CM asks cops to use hi-tech

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday urged the Police and Health Department to provide improved services to commoners through utilising new technology.
“Every sphere has witnessed change – including in style of functioning. Public aspirations have also increased. Law enforcement and the Health Department are directly connected to the masses. Therefore, it is necessary that the behaviour and functioning of officials be improved so that the people obtain relief and repose greater faith in the system. Those in khaki should make better use of technology in investigation,” he was officially quoted as saying in the state capital’s Govindpura while dedicating 1,813 quarters for police personnel.

MP Govt inks health deal with Tata

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government inked a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with Tata Trusts vis-a-vis the latter’s extending technical-cum-managerial support for 115 identified health and wellness centres to be set up in four years within 23 high-priority districts, it was officially learnt.
The Trusts will extend cooperation for 500 more such facilities at a later stage. The agreement was signed at Mantralaya – in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Health Minister Tulsiram Silawat – by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty and Tata Trusts Vice President Vijay Singh.

SAD demands sacking of Health minister Balbir Sidhu for buprenorphine tablet scam
