Scindia announces projects worth Rs 2,361 cr for J&K

Srinagar, Oct 10 (UNI) Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday said a Civil Enclave Airport at Jammu worth Rs 861 crore and expansion of Terminal Building at Srinagar at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore is coming up in the Union Territory.
Addressing the 4th edition of Heli-India Summit here at SKICC, Srinagar Monday organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India with the support of the Government of J&K, Pawan Hans Ltd. and FICCI on the theme “Helicopters for Last Mile Connectivity” brought together various stakeholders of the helicopter industry and provided a common platform to discuss the growth of the Helicopters.
He said the Progress and Prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to realise this dream, Civil Aviation is coming up a Civil Enclave (Airport) at Jammu worth Rs.861 crore and expansion of the Terminal Building at Srinagar at a cost of Rs.1500 crore, Union Minister said.
"Work has been started for implementing "Heli Policy" and use of helicopters in emergency medical services”, he added.
Union Minister on the occasion termed the Summit as a historic moment for J&K. A new beginning has been made in the expansion of helicopter services, he added.

Srinagar, May 8 (UNI) Security forces on Wednesday neutralised one more militant in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, taking the toll in the gun battle that erupted Monday night to 3.
Three militants including the top most local wanted commander Basit Dar of the “The Resistance Front' (TRF), an organisation believed to be a shadow outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed on Tuesday in a gun battle at Redwani Payeen Kulgam
Sources said a joint team of security forces established a fresh contact with a hiding militant on Wednesday during continued searches at Redwani Payeen area of Kulgam as they had inputs about three militants in the house and out of them two were killed on Tuesday.
