Lucknow, Feb 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the Supreme Court should not take more than 24 hours to settle the Ayodhya dispute, as the three-Judge bench of the Allahabad High Court has already upheld that the disputed site at Ayodhya is the birth place of Lord Ram.
'The Allahabad High Court has already settled the dispute, as it upheld in September 2010 judgement that the place of 'Ram Lala Virajman' is the birth place of Lord Ram.
'The dispute is not over the division of the dispute site, but the birth place of Lord Ram and the High Court has settled this issue. The judiciary should respect the religious sentiments of people and it should not take more then 24 hours in adjudication of the dispute,' said the Chief Minister, while replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the joint address to the state Legislature by Governor Ram Naik on February 5.
The Opposition benches were empty, when Mr Adityanath delivered the speech, as they were boycotting the proceedings over hooch tragedy.
'Ayodhya is an ancient town and renowned place for being the birth place of Lord Ram, not because a foreign invader attacked, looted and vandalised the Ram temple and the holy town. We had done the translation of the court documents, pertaining to the Ayodhya case in Hindi and Persian to English in six months, he added.
Training his guns at the Samajwadi Party for its attempts to corner BJP over the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, he said 'SP has no business to ask us about when the temple will be constructed at Ayodhya, as it was during the previous regime of this party in 2005 that terrorists attacked the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and the Akhilesh Yadav government made a futile attempt to withdraw the charges of terror from the accused lodged in jail.
'The veteran socialist leader, though an atheist, held the firm belief that Ram, Krishna and Shiva were the soul of the nation and foundation of the organic unity of India. Nothing can be expected from his disciples as their priorities lie elsewhere, like looting the state treasury and giving patronage to the criminals and gangsters,' added Mr Adityanath.
In a jibe over the SP-BSP alliance, the CM said 'Both the parties have shared seats for the Lok Sabha polls and I am sure they will also share the cost of the statues of elephants, if directed by the Supreme Court.
'Both Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati have no dearth of money as they have minted money when in power. Akhilesh Yadav has invested the money in Australia, London and also in India he earned from the huge financial irregularities in Lucknow-Agra and Poorvanchal road projects and the Gomti river front projects against the original estimate of Rs 347 crore over Rs 1,400 crore spent on the Gomti river front project’’.
Slamming the Opposition for staging walkout from the House, the Chief Minister said 'Opposition has no moral courage to face the truth. The SP, BSP regimes built the corridors of crime, corruption, loot and mafia lords, while BJP has built the corridor of security, development and 'Astha'.
He said the Prime Minister will formally lay the foundation of the defence corridor at Jhansi on February 15.
In his 80-minute speech, Mr Adityanath listed the achievements of his government for the development of the state and particularly for the welfare of farmers like the hike in procurement of wheat, paddy, and payment of cane arrears, electricity supply, and completion of long pending irrigation projects.
Mr Adityanath said by the end of this year, additional irrigation potential of 20 lakh hectares of land will be created in the state, which will transform the rural economy.
On the stray cattle menace in rural areas, the Chief Minister said the government is committed for the protection of the standing crop of the farmers from the cattle.
He said the number of destitute cows has increased, as the government has banned the operation of illegal slaughter houses. He said the arrangements have been made for housing three lakh cattle in cow sheds.
