Sathakulam custodial deaths: Murder charge slapped, Sub Inspector arrested

Thoothukudi, Jul 1 (UNI) The Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) Police arrested the suspended Sub Inspector of Police P Raghu Ganesh here late on Wednesday in connection with the custodial deaths of a father-son duo .
Police sources said the CB-CID police probing the deaths, altered the original First Information Report (FIR) against the accused police personnel to include Section 302 (punishment for murder) and other sections of the IPC.
After altering the FIR, the investigating agency booked six people, including the two sub inspectors Raghu Ganesh, Balakrishnan, two police head constables Muthuraj and Murugan, besides members of Friends of Police in connection with the deaths.
