Safe City Project Mandi to ensure women safety, law and order: HP CM

Shimla, Jan 19 (UNI) The Safe City Project, proposed to be executed in Mandi town under the Nirbhaya fund, would not only ensure safety of women in public places, but also provide smart solution to better traffic management and crowd control, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here on Tuesday.
Reviewing the presentation made by the officers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on the Project, Mr Thakur said the Union government would provide funding in the 90:10 ratio to the states having difficult terrains like Himachal Pradesh.
The project envisages design, development, implementation, operation and CCTV-based surveillance system for Mandi town, he added.
