SAD workers vandalise statue of Rajiv Gandhi, Amarinder orders strict action

Ludhiana, Dec 25 (UNI) Two Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers vandalised the statue of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi at Salem Tabri area of this industrial town on Tuesday.
The Akali leaders smeared black colour on the statue of former prime minister. They alleged that the former prime minister was the mastermind behind the 1984 riots and all his statues all over the country should be removed.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh strongly condemned the vandalisation of Rajiv Gandhi's statue by SAD workers in Ludhiana and asked Sukhbir Singh Badal to stop indulging in petty politics, warning him that such acts would backfire on his party in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
