Sabarimala row: About 1000 Facebook accounts under scanner

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 23 (UNI) More than 1000 Facebook accounts are being monitored by the Kerala Police as part of collecting information on those who called for agitations against the Supreme Court verdict on September 28.
Based on reports from the State Hitech Cyber Cell and the District Cyber Cell, police registered cases against nearly 40 people in this regard, sources said.
Several people used social media as a tool to protest against the Apex Court verdict allowing entry for women of all ages into Lord Ayyappa temple.
Hundreds of fake Facebook accounts operating from outside the country, especially UAE, are being identified for unlawful activities.
The police is planning to handover the information of such accounts to the authorities of Facebook to trace their location to take legal action against them through diplomatic channel.
