Jodhpur, Nov 26 (UNI) Against the backdrop of strong stance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the utterances about his caste and parents by some of the Congress leaders, the grand old party president Rahul Gandhi yet again advised his cadres for using decent expressions against rival leaders.
Addressing election rallies in the Sun City here and historic town Pokaran in bordering Jaisalmer district on Monday, Gandhi said that Congress workers were lion hearted and taking on struggle against atrocious police during agitations under the BJP regime in the state.
"Now you have to wage a war(of ballots) at booth level, however, that should be taken on in a decent manner without turning abusive or vulgar", the Congress leader exhorted.
You may require to speak against Prime Minister Modi or Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, speak out on merits but don't turn vulgar or indecent never use objectionable or abusive expression, Gandhi said.
"Remember spreading hate and dividing the country is their (BJP) plank, we (Congress) believe in love and unification (of people and country)", he quipped.
This is not for the first time when Gandhi issued such an advisory to the party cadres. However, some leaders like Dr CP Joshi, Raj Babbar and Vilasrao Muttemwar had recently made some controversial references about the PM and his parents.
This not only put Gandhi in embarrassing situation but forced him to ask Mr Joshi to regret for his utterance.
Mr Modi has taken strong exception to the references in question and spoke at a length over the issue in his public speeches at meeting since Saturday.
