Radicals trying to defame my image: Rizvi

Lucknow, Jun 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board president Waseem Rizvi on Thursday alleged that some radical elements were trying to defame him, by making baseless statements.

In a statement released here, Mr Rizvi alleged that some radical elements and their organisations were trying to target him with false and baseless allegations. Farhat Naqvi, calling herself president of Haq foundation, had thronged to his resident with her accomplices and tried to defame him with baseless allegations, he stated.

He said Farhat was the step-sister of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and was trying to defame the image of her brother also. Ms Naqvi may hurt the image of her brother on social media also, as her issues related to her personal life were also on several social media platforms, he added.

''It seems that Ms Naqvi, well-funded by my rivals, were making scene to defame my image,'' Mr Rizvi alleged, adding that she thrashed children at orphanage with her goons. He said that a complaint against her was filed in Sahadatganj police station.

Meanwhile, the Shia Waqf Board passed a proposal, warning that if action was not be taken against the perpetrators, who were trying to defame Mr Rizvi, the board workers will go on a hunger strike.
