Punjab govt declares gazetted holiday on Vishwakarma Diwas

Chandigarh, Nov 2 (UNI) In view of Vishwakarma Diwas, the Punjab government has declared a gazetted holiday on November 8, an official spokesperson said here on Friday.
The spokesperson added that the Punjab government had issued a notification in this regard and all the offices of the state government, boards, corporations and other governmental or educational institutes would remain closed on Vishwakarma Diwas.
The holiday was earlier included in the state's list of restricted holidays.

COVID-19: 17 fresh cases, tally 133 in UP's Sambhal

Sambhal, Jun 5 (UNI) With 17 more people testing positive, the total number of patients affected by the novel coronavirus rose to 133 in this Uttar Pradesh district, official sources said on Friday.
According to sources here, 17 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Out of the 133 patients, five are from the villages of Rajpura area.

Jalandhar, Jun 5 (UNI) With one more Covid-19 fatality, the death toll due to the pandemic reached to nine in the district on Friday. Tally of the confirmed positive cases reached to 279 here so far, recording eight fresh infection cases, officials said.
