Provide potable water to people in Kashmir: PI-M

Srinagar, Jul 11 (UNI) Expressing anguish over the alleged potable water scarcity in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, Communist Party of India (M) on Saturday urged government to take immediate steps to overcome the problem.
A large number of areas in Srinagar city, South and North Kashmir are reeling under acute water crisis for the last several months, state secretary of the CPI(M) Ghulam Nabi Malik said in a statement here this afternoon.
He alleged that taps in several localities were running dry and women in particular were facing huge hardships due to water shortage. Women have to go out of their homes to fetch water which is unfortunate.
