Port infrastructure to be upgraded to International standards: Minister

Kannur, Jul 15 (UNI) Kerala Minister for Ports Ramachandran Kadanappally on Monday said the infrastructure of ports in the state would be upgraded to International standards to attract more foreign and domestic vessels to Kerala coast.
Talking to news persons here, Mr Ramachandran said the corridor connecting Azhikkal port and Lakshadweep would be re-established soon which would reduce the road traffic considerably.
The development works of the ports were progressing at a brisk pace, the Minister said adding that the cargo movement would be computerised.
