Polavarm project: Radial gates to be erected on December 17

Amaravati, Nov 5 (UNI) The prestigious crest gates of the Polavaram reservoir, being constructed across the river Godavari, will be erected on December 17.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the construction works of the project with officials and engineers here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he directed officials to speed up the works and ensure that crest gates to the project would be erected on December 17.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that main works of coffer dam, spill channel and approach channel would be completed by the end of April. The main contractors of Polavaram project Navayuga firm informed the Chief Minister that they are going to set a world record in executing major quantity of concrete works per day.
