One year of Commissioning of Rohtang Tunnel : 6,59,087 vehicles crossed

Shimla, Oct 3 (UNI) A year ago Rohtang Tunnel named after Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was commissioned the state police claimed that record 6,59,087 vehicle crossed during the period, press release issued by the state police headquarter here today said.
Atal Tunnel Rohtang was dedicated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Oct 3, 2020 to the people of country especially to the landlocked Lahaul Spiti and tourists to ensure 24x7 and round the year connectivity.
The traffic flow began on Oct 3 , 2020 till Dec 31 2000 recorded movement of as many as 1,63,053 vehicles moreover in first three monthsof commissioning Tunnel crossed by as many as 1,40,128 vehicles. The traffic control unit of Rohtang recorded as many as 5,18959 vehicles till Oct 2 ,2021 which increased to around 6,59,087 by today on completion of one year of its dedication.
