Srinagar, Nov 30 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah welcomed the decision of the Centre to extend the railway line in the valley from Baramulla to Kupwara.
'Grateful to the Government of India for the decision to extend the railway line in the valley to Kupwara in North Kashmir,' Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
In an apparent referral to PDP, Mr Abdullah said, 'Unlike others falling over themselves to claim credit for something they didn’t do, this credit goes to Piyush Goyal (Railway Minister) and we are thankful to him.
'Railway connectivity to Kupwara will soon be a reality. Thank you for your efforts Mehbooba Mufti and Mir Mohammad Fayaz,' PDP wrote on its official twitter handle.
Taking to twitter, Ms Mehbooba said, 'Congratulations to people of Kupwara, as the railway link from Baramulla to Kupwara finally approved, hope soon Chenab valley and Pir Panchal too will get connected by train.'
