Lucknow, Mar 28 (UNI) Notification for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh covering 8 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 9 districts of the state was issued on Thursday with which the process of nomination has started in these constituencies.
Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that the Lok Sabha constituencies covered in this phase include Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr (SC), Aligarh and Mathura. Out of 8 Lok Sabha seats in the second phase, 7 seats are of general category and 1 seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste, he said.
He said that 8 Lok Sabha constituencies of the second phase are spread over districts of the state, including Amroha, Hapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh and Mathura.
The CEO said that as per the schedule the last date for filing nominations is April 4 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is April 8. Polling for the second phase will be held on April 26.
He said that there are 1.67 crore voters in the second phase, including 90.11 lakh male, 77.38 lakh female voters and 787 are third gender. "There are a total of 7,797 polling stations and 17,677 polling booths in these constituencies," he said.
