No proposal to increase honorarium of anganwadi workers-helpers in J&K

Srinagar, May 28 (UNI) There is no proposal under consideration of the government to increase the honorarium of anganwadi workers and helpers and make it at par with Punjab, Haryana and Tamil Nadu.
However, the Aganwadi centres room rent charges have already been enhanced by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (UMWCD), Minister for Social Welfare Sajjad Gani Lone said.
Replying to a question by Ramesh Arora in the Legislative Council, the minister said there is no proposal under the consideration of the government to pay the wages to Angandwari workers and helpers at par with the rates being paid in Punjab and Haryana , where they are getting Rs 5500 and Rs 2500 per month respectively.
