Aurangabad, Sep 9 (UNI)Vedantnagar police have booked cases against around 60 to 70 AIMIM party workers, including Aurangabad MP Imtiaz Jaleel, on the charges of violating prohibitory orders which is still in place due to ongoing corona pandemic.
On Monday, Mr Jaleel along with party workers staged a sit-in agitation on the railway station flyover in protest against the existence of potholes on roads, they planted saplings on these potholes and raised slogans against Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey.
Due to this agitation, traffic was jammed. In the wake of coronavirus, prohibitory orders were still enforced in the city.
On the complaint of Police Inspector Pramod Deokar of Vedanta Nagar Police Station cases have been booked against 60 to 70 activists including Jaleel for violating Section 188, Section 37 (1), (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 and Section 144 (1), (3), police added.
