'I resigned my Governor post to serve the people,' : Tamilisai Soundararajan

Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan, who tendered her resignation as Telangana Governor and also Puducherry Lieutenant-Governor on Monday said “she had resigned her post in order to aggressively serve the people.”
“I am always thankful to the people of Telangana and Puducherry for the love and affection they have shown to me," Tamilisai told reporters here this evening.
She also thanked the President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for having given the opportunity to serve as Governor and Lt Governor.
Answering a query, Soundararajan said she had tendered her resignation on her own accord to serve the people.
Asked whether she would contest the coming Lok Sabha election from Puducherry, Tamilisai said let my resignation be accepted first and then I would disclose about my future plan. It is true that I have resigned to serve the people directly, she added.
To another query, Tamilisai said she had conveyed her willingness to resign the Governor post to them (President, PM and Home Minister) and they didn’t object to it.
Asked whether she would be involved in active politics and contest the election, if her resignation was accepted, she replied ‘I would inform you about it once my resignation is accepted.’
I am returning to directly indulge in honest politics, she added.
Soundararajan, who was sworn in as Telangana state’s second Governor in November 2019, was given additional charge as Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry in February 2021.
