Congress MLA V T Balram sustains injuries in lathi charge

Palakkad, Sep 17 (UNI) Congress MLA from Thrithala V T Balaram and several Youth Congress (YC) workers were injured in a scuffle with police during a protest march organised by the party to Palakkad Collectorate demanding the resignation of Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel on Thursday.
A few policemen also suffered minor injuries in the stone pelting by the agitators, police said.
Police resorted to lathi charge when the YC workers tried to remove the barricades erected in front of the Collectorate gate, sources said.
